SEO Explained - What is Search Engine Optimisation?

Search Engine Optimisation relates to a range of techniques aimed to generate increased traffic (or visitors) through your web-site, thereby driving more sales and leveraging business profits.

It focuses on achieving results through the organic or "natural" listings which appear on the left hand side of most Search Engine results windows when you search for a keyword or keyphrase. Our SEO work does not involve paid listings or Pay-Per-Click/Pay-Per-View programs. Although often complementary and used in conjunction with our SEO program, these activities are carried out seperately via our Web Advertising Plans.

Let's say for example that your business sells Garden Furniture, Sheds, Decking and other related products.

When your customers search for the goods you sell on-line they will use a Search Engine such as Google, Bing or Yahoo and type terms like "Garden furniture mytown", "Decking suppliers in myarea" or "Quality Garden Sheds".

Those Gardening product related websites which appear listed in the Search Engine results on page 1 in positions 1-10 will receive the vast majority of all enquiries, where the percentage traffic (or number of visitors) your site receives each day increases the closer to position 1 your site appears in the search results for each specific keyphrase.

Hence, it goes without saying that our objective in delivering our SEO Services for our clients is to push their web sites as far up the rankings as we can for their desired keyphrases.

ie. SEO = increased web visitors = increased sales

Companies selling thousands of products/services, or companies whose product or service can be described in many different ways will accordingly have thousands of target keyphrases. Smaller businesses with fewer products/services targeting a niche market may only have a few target keyphrases.
